Responsibilities
- Code Development: Develop, test, and debug well-structured and efficient Java code for new features and enhancements, operating under appropriate supervision.
- Bug Fixing: Assist in the identification and resolution of software defects and other technical issues.
- Testing: Engage in unit testing activities and support the execution of integration testing procedures to ensure high code quality.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Experience: Zero to two years of professional experience in Java development, or demonstrably strong academic project experience.
- Core Java: A solid foundational understanding of Java, encompassing object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, fundamental data structures, and algorithms.
- Databases: Basic familiarity with relational databases and SQL.
- AI Assisted Code Generation: Familiarity with foundational AI concepts and practical experience applying AI-powered coding generation (e.g., OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude, Cursor, Windsurf or understanding of transformer-based code generation) will be a significant asset.
- Generative AI and Large Language Models: Understanding of large language models, prompt engineering, retrieval augmentation generation, Model Context Protocol is highly desirable.
- Tools: Familiarity with version control systems, specifically Git.
- Problem Solving: A strong eagerness to learn and a fundamental aptitude for effective problem-solving.
- Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills, coupled with a proactive approach to asking clarifying questions.
