Job Description

This internship provides hands-on experience in software testing for a diverse range of software solutions within OSI Systems' product line. Under the guidance of experienced engineers, the intern will execute pre-defined test cases and contribute to the development of new test cases. Success in this role requires effective teamwork and collaboration within a technically proficient engineering team. The intern will gain practical experience in various aspects of the software testing process, contributing directly to the quality assurance of OSI Systems' products.

Responsibilities

• * Setting up and configuring the necessary test environments for software testing.
• * Designing and developing comprehensive test cases based on provided requirements and user stories.
• * Executing assigned test runs meticulously and accurately, documenting results in the designated Test Case Management and Defect Tracking system.
• * Meticulously entering defect details and creating links to corresponding test runs within the defect tracking system.
• * Consistently meeting deadlines and adhering to established processes for all assigned tasks.
• * Actively participating in technical reviews to ensure the overall quality of the software products.
• * Providing regular status reports on testing activities, keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
• * Demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development through participation in internal and external training courses, independent study, and exploration of new technologies and applications.
• * Generating clear, concise, and comprehensive test reports summarizing findings and outcomes.
• * Developing automated test scripts under the supervision of senior team members, utilizing tools like Selenium (experience a plus).

Education Qualification

• Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.)/Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), or a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree, or equivalent demonstrable experience in software testing.
• Possession of ISTQB Foundation Level certification is highly advantageous.

Skills

• **Technical Skills:**
• * Proficiency in using personal computers and various software testing tools.
• * Familiarity with screening and scanning technologies is a significant advantage.
• * Experience within the security systems domain is a plus.
• * A strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC), Testing Life Cycles (TLC), and fundamental testing concepts.
• * Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and software development practices.
• * Ability to effectively set up and configure test environments.
• * Experience with test automation and Selenium is a definite asset.
• * Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
• **Soft Skills:**
• * Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, combined with strong teamwork abilities and collaborative spirit.
• * A proactive attitude towards continuous learning and professional development, demonstrating self-initiative.
• * Exceptional time management skills and the ability to self-organize effectively to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
