Job Description

Cognizant is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Developer with 0 to 3 years of experience in React JS to join our high-performing team. This position is a hybrid role, necessitating both remote and on-site work, primarily during day shifts. The successful candidate will play a key role in the development of innovative web applications designed to improve user experiences and contribute to the overall expansion of the business. This individual will be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle, from initial design to deployment and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable web applications utilizing React JS, ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness across diverse platforms.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, and other developers, to define, design, and implement new features that meet business requirements and enhance user engagement.
• Write well-structured, clean, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to established coding standards and best practices to fulfill project specifications.
• Thoroughly debug and resolve technical issues, including identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions, to guarantee seamless application functionality and a positive user experience.
• Implement user interface (UI) components, adhering to established React JS workflows and principles, to ensure a consistent and intuitive user interface.
• Optimize components for maximum performance and cross-browser compatibility across a wide range of web-capable devices and browsers, including thorough testing and performance tuning.
• Actively participate in code reviews to maintain a high level of code quality, identify potential issues, and share knowledge and expertise with fellow team members.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in React JS and related front-end technologies to ensure the application remains current, competitive, and utilizes cutting-edge techniques.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, addressing their inquiries and resolving technical issues to ensure user satisfaction and optimal application usability.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the software development process by identifying areas for enhancement and implementing streamlined workflows and tools to improve team productivity.
• Evaluate the technical feasibility of proposed UI/UX designs and provide constructive feedback to designers to ensure that designs are practical, efficient, and aligned with technical capabilities.
• Work closely with backend developers to seamlessly integrate APIs and other backend services, ensuring smooth data flow and optimal application performance.
• Document application changes, updates, and configurations meticulously to facilitate seamless integration, future maintenance, and knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of React JS and its core principles, including component-based architecture, virtual DOM, and data binding.
• Practical experience with popular React JS workflows, such as Redux or Context API, for managing application state and data flow.
• Proficiency in fundamental web development technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, with a strong understanding of web standards and best practices.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and modern front-end build pipelines and tools, such as Webpack, Babel, and npm.
• Practical knowledge of code versioning tools, particularly Git, for collaborative development and source code management.
• A meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality user experiences that meet or exceed user expectations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively as an integral part of a team.
• Experience with TypeScript and front-end testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Mocha, Cypress) is considered a plus.
• A strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and evolving project requirements.
