R&D roles within Maruti Suzuki are broadly categorized into three distinct areas, each concentrating on specific facets of vehicle development and innovation:

1. Product Planning Area:

This department is tasked with the crucial responsibility of translating innovative concepts into commercially viable and market-leading products. This involves the integration of strategic planning, pioneering design principles, cost optimization strategies, and progressive management techniques.

2. Engineering Area:

This division spearheads the conceptualization and engineering development of new vehicle models. The team oversees all vehicle engineering aspects, including body structure, chassis design, advanced powertrain systems (Internal Combustion Engines, Battery Electric Vehicles, and Hybrid Powertrains), and other essential features such as infotainment systems, telematics, and Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) for models intended for both the Indian domestic market and international export markets.

3. Homologation & Regulation Area:

This specialized area is entrusted with the critical task of ensuring that every vehicle manufactured by Maruti Suzuki India Limited adheres to all applicable national and international safety, environmental, and quality standards. The team is also responsible for ensuring compliance with the latest automotive regulations prior to the vehicle’s release to consumers. This department actively represents the company in diverse technical committees involved in regulatory framework development.

Qualifications

• Work Experience: A minimum of 12 months and up to 22 months of relevant experience (as of the application date) acquired subsequent to the completion of a Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology or Master of Technology degree.
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology or Master of Technology degree (Regular/Full-time programs only).
• Eligible Disciplines: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
• Academic Performance: A minimum aggregate score of 65% or an equivalent CGPA (6.5/10) throughout the academic career, encompassing 10th grade, 12th grade or Diploma (if applicable), and Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Technology. Candidates may have 60% or equivalent in MTech (if applicable). Rounding off of marks is not permitted.
• Educational Institutions: Degrees must be obtained from AICTE/UGC recognized colleges/universities.
• Age Limit: 21-26 years for Bachelor of Technology graduates and 21-28 years for Master of Technology graduates (as of 2025-04-01).
