Job Description
Balmer Lawrie is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced professionals for various positions on a fixed-term contract basis for a duration of three years. Responsibilities
- **Manager [Domestic Transportation]**
- 1. Operational Management: Plan, coordinate, and oversee transportation routes and schedules; Optimize fleet utilization to minimize costs and maximize efficiency; Ensure timely deliveries while maintaining service quality.
- 2. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Ensure compliance with transport laws, safety regulations, and permits; Maintain records related to vehicle inspections, insurance, and licenses; Liaise with regulatory authorities for smooth operations.
- 3. Fleet & Vehicle Management: Oversee vehicle maintenance, repairs, and fuel management; Ensure roadworthiness of all vehicles in the fleet; Implement tracking systems to monitor vehicle movement and performance.
- 4. Cost Control & Budgeting: Monitor fuel costs, tolls, and overall operational expenses; Negotiate contracts with transport vendors and suppliers; Implement cost-saving measures without compromising efficiency.
- 5. Team & Driver Management: Supervise drivers and transport staff, ensuring adherence to company policies; Train and educate drivers on safety protocols and best practices; Address grievances and ensure employee satisfaction for smooth operations.

- **Officer [Custom Operations]**
- 1. Flow of data from AIR IMPORT – Job creation ( if required)/Option for creation of job for outside consol and direct master
- 2. Preparation of check lists based on the PREALERT received for all import shipments and getting it approved by customers
- 3. Processing document sets for arranging CDEC submission to all MOD customers and follow up till receiving of documents
- 4. Preparation of bill of entry for customs and execution of E-Sanchit documentation
- 5. Generation of custom codes (IRN/DRN) against each B/E and processing for uploading it to ICEGATE.
- 6. Follow up for all Custom queries, replies, amendments for final processing of B/E
- 7. Follow up for generation of Bill Of Entry in the system and forwarding the BOE to customer for duty payment
- 8. Follow up for payment to customs duty via bank interface to ICEGATE for next action
- 9. Executes and prepares Physical Examination and verification report following with the payment of Bank Challan
- 10. Completion of Customs formalities at airport premise and liasoning with custodian for release of cargo from different warehouses
- 11. Maintaining weekly status report for all major customers
- **Junior Officer [Operations]**
- 1. Processing of Import & Export documents,
- 2. Filing of Bill of Entries & Shipping Bills through ICEGATE, preparation and timely submission of different type of bonds /certificated whenever required
- 3. Co-ordination and completion of customs formalities for clearance of shipments at Airport /CFS/Port
- 4. Demurrage free processing and servicing
- 5. Physical delivery of cargo at CFS/ ICD (as maybe the case) including arranging physical verification of cargo/ survey, complying all formalities for customs appraisement, loading, seal checking etc.
- 6. Handling all documentation activities related to Shipping Lines, Bonded warehousing, Filing of documents with Port Customs
- 7. obtaining Let Export Order/Out of Charge documents etc.
- 8. Ensuring timely delivery to customer by planning requirement of vehicles, arranging vehicle, loading of vehicles and co-ordinating with customer and transporters.
- 9. Ensure timely Processing of different types of bonds related to movement of Railway rake to Nepal & CONCOR rake movement with 3rd country Export & Import
- 10. Any other responsibilities assigned time to time.
- **Junior Officer [Operations]**
- 1. Communication with Airlines and Foreign Associates, checking emails, receiving Pre alerts, coordination with the airline/associates for discrepancy, if any.
- 2. Creating job in Corvi, issuing ACAN to customers & CHAs, checking arrival status of flights.
- 3. Filing CGM in ICEGATE, releasing online delivery order, making payment vouchers for airline DOs.
- 4. Sending cargo arrival status to customers on daily basis.
- 5. Tracking the shipment and checking for the schedule.
- 6. Checking for short-landing and to co-ordinate with the Airline/ Associate for resolution of the issue.
- 7. Raising invoice to Customers/ CHAs and collection of payment.
- 8. Filing of all shipment related documents and uploading in Corvi.
- 9. Co-ordination with Associates, remittance cell and Corporate for reconciliation and release of payments.
- 10. Any other Job assigned time to time
- **Junior Officer [Operations]**
- 1. Pricing: • Receiving RFQ from Customer / Sales • Sourcing rates from Liners / NVOCC Operators • Negotiation of rates with Liners / NVOCC • Quoting to Customer / Sales Team
- 2. Documentation :- • Preparation of Checklist for filing SB • Arranging booking with Liners, Submission of SI, VGM and BL drafts • Payment to Liners / CFS by preparing payment advises • Invoicing to Customer on completion of Job.
- 3. Operations :- • Arranging for Customs clearance in ICD / CFS • Placing of Trailers / Trucks on co-ordination with vendors.
- 4. Domestic Transport Operations:- • Co-ordinate with Transport vendors and place the suitable vehicle as per the customer requirements • Completing pre-documentation such as LR, EWAYBILL for movement of cargo • Placing Trucks on time and follow up on loading and movement of trucks • Tracking the movements and give daily update to customers • Co-ordination for unloading of trucks and delivery location • Collection of LR after unloading and arranging for invoice to customer • Follow up for payment of our invoices.

- **Junior Officer [Sea CHA]**
- 1. Associate Interaction & Follow-up: Ensure smooth communication and coordination with stakeholders.
- 2. Pre-alert & Documentation Follow-up: Monitor and track shipment documentation for timely processing.
- 3. MBL/HBL Finalization: Oversee Master & House Bill of Lading finalization.
- 4. IGM Submission: Ensure timely submission of Import General Manifest.

- 16. File the annual Professional Tax Return for the company.
- 17. File Form C & F for VAT and CST across multiple states.
- 18. Prepare liability vouchers in SAP for vendor bills and employee reimbursements.
- 19. Perform any other duties or responsibilities as required by the department.
