Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated candidates to join our engineering team as Associate Software Development Engineers (aSDEs). As an aSDE, you will collaborate with seasoned engineers, contributing to the design, development, and implementation of advanced frontend systems. You will acquire practical experience with modern technologies, including React, TypeScript, Redux, Webpack, Jest, GraphQL, and REST APIs, alongside performance optimization strategies and responsive design methodologies. This role provides a robust foundation for developing scalable and seamless web experiences that cater to millions of Swiggy users nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Develop next-generation web applications, emphasizing efficient and reusable front-end abstractions and systems.
• Explore and design dynamic and compelling consumer experiences.
• Collaborate closely with designers to implement versatile front-end solutions, embracing emerging standards and pushing the boundaries of browser capabilities.
• Actively participate in design and code reviews to construct robust applications and prototypes.
• Engage with team members to passionately share innovations with teams across Swiggy.
• Analyze system function and performance requirements to inform design concepts.
• Maintain an impressive command of the latest UI technologies.
• Consistently implement new features and optimize existing ones, from the controller-level to the UI.
• Proactively identify and rapidly resolve bugs.
• Continuously address challenges to provide customers with a delightful shopping experience.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Backend Engineers to implement frontend solutions.
• Champion upcoming standards, launching, iterating, and making a significant impact.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive understanding of web fundamentals, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Fundamental knowledge of CSS pre-processing platforms in JavaScript.
• Proficient understanding of at least one UI framework, such as React, Angular 4+, Vue, or Polymer.
• Solid understanding of ES6 and later versions.
• Experience with Typescript.
• Familiarity with web bundling tools like Webpack, ParcelJS, and Rollup.
• Strong knowledge of design patterns and best practices for writing clean, linted, maintainable, and reusable code.
• Thorough understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and effective workarounds.
• Knowledge of Version Control Systems, such as Git.
• Experience using supplementary libraries like Redux, Redux Saga, Emotion, and Lerna is advantageous.
• Experience in writing End-to-End (E2E) test cases with Playwright/Cypress and Unit test cases with relevant libraries.
