Responsibilities
- Project Associate:
1. Execute and oversee all genetic assays within the laboratory environment.
2. Maintain comprehensive documentation, conduct data analysis, and prepare reports for submission to DBT.
3. Support the Principal Investigator (PI) in the creation of project progress reports, statements of expenditure, and utilization certificates for regular submission to DBT.
4. Facilitate PI/representatives during the monitoring, supervision, and quality assurance phases of collected data.
5. Provide assistance in the training of junior staff, project assistants, and students in various laboratory techniques.
6. Ensure strict adherence to biosafety protocols, ethical standards, and project guidelines.
7. Execute tasks assigned by the PI effectively. - Project Assistant:
1. Support sample collection, processing, and preparation procedures for genetic testing.
2. Assist the Project Associate in conducting routine cytogenetic and molecular diagnostic procedures and provide technical assistance during newborn screening processes.
3. Draft official correspondence and project reports in English.
4. Assist the Project Associate/PI in conducting project-related training sessions and awareness programs.
5. Undertake laboratory housekeeping duties, manage inventory, and maintain consumable supplies.
6. Maintain accurate records of laboratory data, registers, and logs.
7. Support project documentation and coordinate daily operational activities.
8. Execute tasks assigned by the PI effectively. - Data Entry Operator:
1. Perform data entry of patient demographic, clinical, laboratory, and genetic information into designated databases.
2. Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure the secure handling of sensitive health-related data.
3. Ensure completeness and accuracy of records, generate reports, and assist in the preparation of project submissions to DBT.
4. Support digital documentation efforts, record archiving, and data retrieval processes for audits and monitoring purposes.
Qualifications
- Project Associate – I: M.Sc. in Genetics / Biotechnology / Life Sciences / Molecular Biology or an equivalent field, accompanied by NET / GATE qualification, OR an M.Tech in a relevant discipline, OR an M.Sc. degree complemented by two years of research experience in Human Genetics / Cytogenetics / Molecular Biology.
- Project Assistant: B.Sc. in Life Sciences / Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) / Biotechnology
- Data Entry Operator: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline supplemented by a Diploma/Certificate in Computer Applications, proficiency in MS Office, and data management skills.
