Job Description

We are seeking passionate and driven Software Development Engineers I to join our Amazon University Talent Acquisition team. In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge technologies to solve intricate problems and contribute to innovations that affect a vast customer base. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and launching new products, features, and services. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with diverse teams of experienced Amazonians to conceptualize, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
• Develop and build cutting-edge technologies within a large-scale distributed computing infrastructure, influencing industry advancements.
• Engineer solutions for executing predictions on distributed systems, utilizing innovative technologies at significant scale and speed.
• Construct scalable, fault-tolerant, cost-effective, and easily manageable distributed storage, index, and query systems.
• Design and implement robust solutions for broadly defined challenges.
• Contribute to delivering high-quality software within an agile development framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Solid understanding of fundamental Computer Science principles, including object-oriented design, algorithm design, data structures, problem-solving, and complexity analysis.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C/C++, Python, Java, or Perl.
• Previous technical internship experience is preferred.
• Experience working with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases is advantageous.
• Familiarity with optimization mathematics, such as linear programming and nonlinear optimization, is a plus.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical challenges and proposed solutions.
• Demonstrated capability in handling ambiguous or undefined problems and thinking abstractly.
