Qualifications
- Age Limit: Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 27 years of age as of August 1, 2025, for General category applicants. Age relaxations are applicable as per government guidelines: 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates. Physically Challenged persons (with a minimum of 40% disability) are eligible for a 10-year age relaxation.
- Minimum Educational Qualification: Applicants must possess a High School pass and a Diploma in the relevant Engineering discipline obtained through full-time, regular study from a Government-recognized institution within the last five years. A minimum aggregate of 60% marks is required for UR/OBC(NCL)/EWS candidates, while SC/ST candidates need a minimum of 50% marks.
- Candidates who have completed their full-time Diploma courses in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, & 2025 only are eligible to apply for Apprenticeship Training. Diplomas obtained through Distance Learning, Part-Time, Correspondence, or Sandwich courses will not be considered for apprenticeship training at BHEL.
- Candidates who have already completed or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training in any organization under the Apprentices (Amendment) Act, 1973, are not eligible to apply. Candidates possessing one year or more of work experience are also ineligible.
- Candidates who have passed their qualifying examination from Govt. recognized academic institutions located in the state of Tamilnadu will only be considered for selection.
