Job Description

Branch International is seeking enthusiastic Software Engineer Interns to join its expanding operations in India. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing product portfolio and user base within a dynamic fintech environment. Interns will collaborate closely with seasoned engineers, dedicating 4-6 months to significant contributions in product development and codebase enhancement. The program involves a comprehensive cycle of brainstorming, designing, coding, debugging, and deploying features that directly impact millions of customers. Interns will gain valuable career skills while playing an integral part in the company’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Develop new functionalities for existing and emerging product lines and platforms, including areas like Credit, Wallet, Payments, KYC, and Data Platforms.
• Implement integrations with a variety of external third-party systems, such as payment gateways, identity verification services, and messaging platforms.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in building backend applications or native Android applications beyond basic academic projects; real-user applications or open-source contributions are highly desirable.
• A strong understanding of fundamental computer science principles, distributed systems, and data storage concepts.
• Familiarity with various Unix operating systems and essential command-line utilities.
• Proficiency in at least one mainstream programming language, such as Python, Ruby, Java, or Kotlin.
• A highly entrepreneurial spirit, characterized by proactive problem-solving and a track record of initiating or significantly contributing to passion projects.
• Excellent collaborative and communication skills, understanding the importance of teamwork in a startup environment; comfortable listening, voicing opinions, and asking pertinent questions.
• Enthusiasm for working in a distributed team setting, collaborating with international colleagues, and a strong desire for continuous learning.
