Job Description

Our web development team thrives in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment, working closely with visual designers, UX designers, and fellow developers to deliver innovative and captivating web projects. We are seeking a passionate Web Developer who is genuinely enthusiastic about their craft. You possess a deep appreciation for web standards and remain informed about the latest industry advancements. You actively seek opportunities to enhance your skills and enjoy sharing your work while learning from others. A keen eye for detail is essential, and you value the design of a product as highly as the underlying code. Excellent communication skills are vital, and ideally, you may even maintain a blog. You stay abreast of current CSS techniques while recognizing the limitations associated with developing for a broad audience, embracing the challenge that it presents.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-fidelity websites and web applications leveraging the latest versions of HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript (React and TypeScript).
• Maintain existing projects, including content updates and the addition of new pages.
• Manage incoming update requests and coordinate with or delegate tasks to other team members as needed.
• Ensure consistently high standards across our entire product portfolio.
• Publish new pages according to specifications and in compliance with our web style guide.
• Actively participate in and contribute to our living style guide, the Vanilla Framework.
• Collaborate closely with UX designers and visual designers to implement exceptional user experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in developing modern web applications.
• Comprehensive understanding of HTML, CSS (including SCSS), and JavaScript.
• Experience with JavaScript component libraries.
• Proficiency in TypeScript.
• Experience building responsive user interfaces optimized for diverse devices and browsers.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
• Knowledge of SEO best practices.
• A commitment to accessibility in all facets of your work.
• Deep understanding of web performance considerations in complex user interfaces.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with UX designers, visual designers, and server-side developers.
• A strong sense of curiosity regarding technology and a proactive approach to continuous learning.
• Availability during EMEA time zones (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa).
• A university degree or equivalent educational qualification.
