Job Description

GoHighLevel is seeking a motivated and curious Applications Engineering Intern to join their team in India. This paid internship offers a unique opportunity to work closely with business teams and contribute to the development of a robust, scalable application with cutting-edge features. Under the guidance of senior engineers, interns will gain hands-on experience, experiment with new tools, and develop a deep understanding of real-world systems. The role emphasizes learning, problem-solving, quick iteration, and thoughtful contribution within a fast-paced engineering environment. Responsibilities

• Assist in designing and testing AI workflows, including documenting requirements, validating routing logic, and configuring tools under supervision.
• Support the creation of small, reusable workflow components like basic nodes, validations, or structured outputs, adhering to predefined patterns for retries and fallbacks.
• Test and validate tool execution to ensure outputs are safe, predictable, and meet defined acceptance criteria before integration into downstream processes.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and mentors to comprehend business objectives and translate ideas into well-defined, scoped tasks.
• Aid in maintaining internal agent-accessible services or APIs, including data retrieval via Snowflake queries, configuration updates, and data enrichment.
• Contribute to evaluation and monitoring of AI workflows by developing test cases, conducting regression checks, and reviewing metrics such as latency, cost, and errors.
• Support improvements in the transcription application through data ingestion, basic data cleanup, validation, storage checks, and retrieval testing.
• Learn and apply reliability concepts (queues, workers, retries, idempotency) by assisting in testing and documenting their impact on pipeline stability.
• Assist with rubric-based call scoring initiatives by validating outputs, reviewing scoring logic, and ensuring accurate data publication for coaching and operational purposes.
• Engage in exploratory work on streaming data, focusing on understanding data flow between capture, transcription, and scoring without direct implementation ownership.
• Deliver small, clearly scoped tasks with regular check-ins, quickly incorporate feedback, and document learnings and outcomes.

• Familiarity with the AI ecosystem, including tools like LangGraph, Botpress, or other agent builders.
• Understanding of streaming systems (WebSockets/HTTP2), including concepts like backpressure and reconnects.
• Basic audio knowledge (FFmpeg basics, codecs) and familiarity with transcription services are beneficial.
