Recruitment Announcement: AGNIVEERVAYU Intake 02/2026
The Indian Air Force (IAF) is accepting online applications from unmarried Indian male and female candidates for the Agniveervayu selection test under the Agnipath Scheme, Intake 02/2026.
In accordance with the new Human Resources (HR) methodology for inducting Agniveervayu under the Agnipath Scheme, the Indian Air Force (IAF) offers an opportunity for the nation’s youth to experience military life for a four-year period. Applications are invited from unmarried Indian male and female candidates to participate in the selection test starting September 25, 2025, for the purpose of joining the IAF as an Agniveervayu. The quantity and utilization of female candidates will align with service requirements.

Responsibilities
Qualifications
- Age: Candidates born between July 2, 2005, and January 2, 2009 (inclusive of both dates), are eligible to apply.
- Upper Age Limit: If a candidate successfully completes all stages of the selection procedure, the upper age limit on the date of enrollment must not exceed 21 years.
- Marital Status: Only unmarried male and female candidates are eligible for enrollment as Agniveervayu, and they must commit to remaining unmarried throughout their four-year engagement period.
- Female candidates must also commit to not becoming pregnant during the four-year engagement period.
- Educational Qualifications:
- Science Subjects: Candidates must have passed the Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- OR Passed a Three-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a Central, State, and UT recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Diploma Course (or in Intermediate/ Matriculation, if English is not a subject in the Diploma Course).
- OR Passed a Two-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects, namely Physics and Mathematics, from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/ Matriculation, if English is not a subject in the Vocational Course).
- Other than Science Subjects: Candidates must have passed the Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- OR Passed a two-year Vocational Course from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50 marks in English in the Vocational Course (or in Intermediate/ Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Vocational Course).
- Domicile Category: Candidates are required to select a domicile category and declare their domicile State/UT in the online application form during registration.
- Permanent Domicile: Permanent residents of the districts within State(s)/UTs. Candidates must provide a ‘Domicile Certificate’ issued by a Gazetted Officer in the Revenue Department or any other official authorized by the State Government of the specific State/UT.
- COAFP-I: Children of serving Air Force personnel [Officers/Airmen/NCs(E) and Unit Cadre Civilians paid from Defence Estimates] whose parent(s) are currently serving in any Air Force Unit/other organization located within the districts of State(s)/UTs. These candidates must provide a recent COAFP (Children of Air Force Personnel) Certificate.
- COAFP-II: Children of Air Force personnel [Officers/Airmen/NCs(E) and Unit Cadre Civilians paid from Defence Estimates] whose parent(s) are Retired/Discharged/Deceased and residing within the districts of State(s)/UTs. These candidates must provide proof of at least one year of stay, along with the original and a photocopy of the Service Book/Discharge Book/Casualty Service Certificate/Service Particular Certificate (issued from DPO-3/DAV, as applicable) for Officers/Airmen/NCs(E). Civilians must provide a certificate signed by the OIC Civil Admin and countersigned by the CO/C Adm O of the last served unit.
