Job Description
Khatabook is looking for a highly skilled and innovative Data Science Intern to join their team. This role involves working on intriguing machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), and image processing challenges. The ideal candidate will be passionate about machine learning, deep learning, and applying large language models (LLMs) to solve real-world financial problems relevant to MSMEs. The intern will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying end-to-end data science solutions to address complex business issues in areas like lending, insurance, investments, and payments. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and business, to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements. The role also involves continuously exploring and implementing cutting-edge techniques in ML, DL, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Generative AI, alongside driving experimentation and rapid prototyping to validate hypotheses and scale successful models into production.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end data science solutions to address complex business problems across lending, insurance, investments, and payments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and business, to identify opportunities for data-driven impact.
- Continuously explore and implement state-of-the-art techniques in machine learning, deep learning, NLP, and Generative AI.
- Drive experimentation and rapid prototyping to validate hypotheses and scale successful models to production.
Qualifications
- Currently in the 4th year of a Bachelor’s degree or 2nd year of a Master’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent field.
- Demonstrated experience in Data Science/Machine Learning.
- Strong knowledge in Image Processing within the AI domain.
- Strong inclination towards identifying complex patterns in data, generating insights, performing root cause analysis, and automating processes through dashboards.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Basic experience in building Data Pipelines using Python and Airflow.
- Experience with feature engineering.
- Proficiency in pandas, scikit-learn, and SQL.
- Familiarity with TensorFlow/PyTorch.
- Bonus: Experience with deep learning techniques.
- Bonus: Understanding of DevOps/MLOps, including creating Docker containers and deploying to production.
