Job Description

This internship offers a valuable learning experience designed to provide the intern with a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects and professional standards inherent in Information Technology roles. The intern will gain exposure to the Enterprise Application Lifecycle and receive mentorship from experienced IT professionals. The internship will concentrate on technologies relevant to real-world Enterprise Networks, Web Applications, Data Engineering, and Business Intelligence. Simultaneously, the intern will have the opportunity to offer insights and suggestions for process improvement, drawing on their perspective as a student, end-user, and potential team member.

During this internship, the successful candidate will collaborate with diverse, cross-functional teams in activities such as deploying and managing applications and services, diligently monitoring and optimizing infrastructure performance, gaining a thorough understanding of security measures, implementing automation for processes and tasks, effectively troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, and staying abreast of the latest technological advancements and industry best practices. The intern will actively participate in multiple concurrent projects and products within a real-world operational environment.

Responsibilities

• IT Infrastructure Management – Enterprise Networks

  * Developing a comprehensive understanding of the infrastructure landscape that supports enterprise networks and applications.
  * Providing support in the design and implementation of servers and virtual machines, with a focus on ensuring high availability, robust security, and fault tolerance.
  * Monitoring services and formulating recommendations for optimizing overall performance.

• Web Applications

  * Assisting with frontend development utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular (a modern full stack approach).
  * Contributing to backend development activities using Spring Boot.
  * Ensuring that the Angular version is up-to-date and optimized by:

  * Identifying deprecated plugins and incompatible libraries.
  * Conducting research and proposing alternative, updated plugin solutions.
  * Developing Proof of Concepts to validate the effectiveness of proposed solutions.
  * Documenting findings thoroughly and assisting with integration testing procedures.
  * Understanding and effectively utilizing version control capabilities (GIT) and collaborative workflows.
  * Maintaining detailed documentation of tasks, progress, and acquired knowledge.

• Data Engineering & Business Intelligence

  * Developing a thorough understanding of various Database Management Systems (DBMS) including Oracle and AWS Redshift, and gaining exposure to moderately complex and complex SQL queries.
  * Collaborating in the creation of Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) strategies and coding business logics for batch integrations.
  * Participating in ETL (Informatica & Talend) performance improvement initiatives and integrations (Java, FTP, Databases, etc.).
  * Understanding the core concepts of Indexing and Triggers and applying them in the establishment of automations and the organization’s data management strategy.
  * Gaining practical experience in Business Intelligence through reporting activities using Tableau.

• Enterprise Application Lifecycle

  * Contributing actively to all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), from initial Requirement Gathering through Post-Production Support.
  * Participating in activities related to Requirement Gathering, Analysis, Design, Build, and Deployment.
  * Developing comprehensive Test plans and reviewing Performance Benchmarks.
  * Conducting Functional and Performance Testing and actively engaging with the team to contribute to the overall quality of the platform.
  * Evaluating the solution against established benchmarks.
  * Developing an understanding of how the Production System is monitored and how Post-production Issues are effectively managed.

Qualifications

• Education: Currently pursuing the final year of a Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA), or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science.
