Job Description

Pearson is dedicated to providing an exceptional internship experience characterized by comprehensive technical skills development, personalized coaching, robust networking opportunities, valuable professional development guidance, and deep insights into Pearson’s culture and business operations.

Internship Term: June to August 2025 (a duration of three months)

Work Arrangement: Interns and their supervisors are required to work on-site at the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (a minimum of three days per week) throughout the program. Paid Time Off is not available during the internship period.

Project Assignments: Interns will be assigned a specific project to focus on throughout the summer, culminating in a final presentation during the last week of the internship. Managers and mentors will provide ongoing support and guidance to facilitate learning and the development of new skills.

Learning and Development Sessions: Mandatory learning sessions will be conducted weekly to provide interns with information about Pearson, the Technology organization, and a variety of other relevant skills.

On-Site Engagement: Interns will have opportunities to participate in office networking events and other Pearson India activities throughout the internship.

Final Project Presentation: Interns will deliver a formal presentation of their final project to company leaders during the concluding week of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop solutions, primarily on the Salesforce platform, utilizing the Apex programming language and Visualforce.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information, data, and technical details.
• Identify, analyze, and resolve defects.
• Review and implement new features based on business requirements.
• Address issues identified during User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Assist users during UAT and facilitate train-the-trainer sessions.
• Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to analyze and document process flows.
• Query and load business data into Salesforce using SOQL tools.
• Migrate metadata from the development environment to the system testing environment during the deployment cycle.
• Coordinate functional design review sessions and collaborate with the team in application development.
• Work with Business Analysts and System Analysts to translate functional requirements into detailed technical design specifications.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and capacity to develop optimal solutions.
• Strong interest in Salesforce CRM, cloud technologies, and business process automation.
• Familiarity with Salesforce Lightning and/or Classic interface is desirable.
• Basic understanding of database concepts, reporting methodologies, and data management principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of attention to detail and eagerness to learn new tools and technologies.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Core Salesforce Certifications (Admin, App Builder, etc.) are preferred.
• Additional Salesforce certifications are highly advantageous.
• Experience with Salesforce customization tools (such as MIAW, Flows, etc.) is preferred.
