Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly motivated and inquisitive Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Intern to become a valued member of our infrastructure team. This internship offers practical, hands-on experience in the crucial areas of building, maintaining, and scaling production systems, with a strong emphasis on reliability, performance optimization, and automation strategies. As an intern, you will work closely with experienced SRE professionals to enhance system observability, streamline operational processes through automation, and ensure consistent service uptime. Interns will be involved in real-world infrastructure projects over a period of several months, with the potential for a full-time SRE position contingent upon performance evaluations and prevailing organizational requirements.

Eligible Candidates: Students graduating in 2024 or 2025 are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance in the maintenance and monitoring of production infrastructure and services.
• Develop and implement automation solutions for routine tasks utilizing scripting languages such as Python and Perl.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging systems.
• Collaborate effectively with engineering teams to ensure the reliability and scalability of all services.
• Actively participate in incident response procedures and contribute to the creation of thorough postmortem documentation.
• Document operational processes and contribute to the ongoing improvement of internal tools and dashboards.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science or a closely related field.
• Demonstrates a foundational understanding of Linux systems and shell scripting principles.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, is considered advantageous.
• Possesses strong problem-solving capabilities and a genuine eagerness to learn and expand technical expertise.
