Job Description
Smartsheet is actively seeking Software Engineers with diverse specializations, including front-end, back-end, test automation, operations, and infrastructure, to join its expanding team in Bangalore, India. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to multiple teams and products, fostering the development of a broad skillset across various engineering disciplines. The position involves full lifecycle development, from initial concept through to release, with a strong emphasis on implementing new features, enhancing existing ones, and maintaining service APIs. Engineers will be involved in system architecture discussions, quality assurance, defect resolution, and collaborating with systems engineers to address infrastructure issues. A key aspect of the role involves actively utilizing AI tools to boost personal and team efficiency in coding, testing, design, and troubleshooting, while also exploring AI integration opportunities and coaching colleagues on its effective use. This role requires legal eligibility to work in India and fluency in English.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to the entire development life cycle, from concept to release
- Participate in system architecture discussions
- Implement new features and improve existing functionalities
- Maintain existing service APIs and develop new ones
- Participate in all phases of quality assurance and defect resolution
- Interact with systems engineers to debug infrastructure problems
- Actively use AI tools to improve personal and team efficiency across coding, testing, design, and troubleshooting
- Explore AI integration opportunities within team processes and features
- Coach others on effective AI use
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience with Golang, Java, C, a C-style language, or Node.js
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, and CSS pre-processors (for front-end engineers)
- Experience with Object Oriented design
- Familiarity with Microservice Architecture
- Familiarity with Linux system command line (preferred)
- Experience building scalable, high availability applications
- BSc. or MSc. in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience
- Legally eligible to work in India on an ongoing basis
- Fluency in English
