Job Description

The Billing Systems Analyst I is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of software systems within both internal and customer-facing environments. This role involves close collaboration with Operations and Service Delivery teams to maintain system monitoring, runtime availability, and overall effectiveness through automation and real-time oversight. The primary objective is to ensure all systems and equipment function optimally to support the organization’s goals and objectives. Responsibilities

  • Ensure the effective operation of software in internal and customer-facing environments.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations and Service Delivery teams.
  • Ensure system monitoring, runtime availability, and effectiveness, including automation and real-time monitoring.
  • Ensure all systems and equipment run efficiently and effectively to support organizational objectives.
  • Perform first-cut basic analysis using predefined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Explore patterns to make monitoring proactive, detecting problems before they occur and preventing repetitive production issues.
  • Understand customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs), prioritize tasks, and manage workflow from beginning to end.
  • Triage issues and engage with customers and L2/L3 support teams for any functional or technical malfunctions encountered in production.
  • Communicate issues effectively to various stakeholders, including those with limited technical knowledge.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Document operational and system architecture processes and configurations.
  • Identify opportunities for automation where applicable.
  • Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation schedule.
  • Maintain clear shift handovers, ROTA schedules, and escalation matrices for seamless coordination among support teams, customers, and third-party vendors.
  • Capture a chronology of events for critical and high-priority alerts.
  • Work in rotational 24×7 shift schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (Electrical, Software, or Telecommunications), or a related field.
  • 0-1 year of experience in system monitoring and IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
  • Experience working with ITSM tools.
  • Basic Unix/Linux proficiency.
  • Experience with databases such as Oracle or MySQL.
  • Strong communication skills and experience in customer interaction.
  • Basic knowledge of Linux platforms and common scripting languages (Perl, Python, Groovy, Ruby, bash).
  • Proficiency in English for business communication.
