Job Description
AIIMS Bibinagar is seeking to fill positions for Lab Technician and Data Entry Operator on a contractual basis for a duration of one year under the “Regional Coordinator for One Health (RCOH)” program within the Department of Microbiology. This initiative focuses on public health surveillance and research. The initial contract will be for three months, with potential extensions up to one year, based on the Principal Investigator’s recommendation and performance. The roles involve laboratory sample processing, data management, surveillance support, and other assigned duties to ensure the smooth operation of the RCOH project.

Responsibilities
- Processing samples during outbreak investigations.
- Assisting in projects such as OHDSS surveillance, involving collection and analysis of samples for zoonotic agents from individuals with diarrheal illnesses.
- Completing any work assigned by the Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) to ensure the smooth functioning of the RCOH program.
- Performing necessary investigations for patients presenting with Acute Febrile Illness (AFI) or other illnesses involved in the project to confirm diagnoses.
- Maintaining routine laboratory work and other necessary lab maintenance.
- Compiling and entering all data collected relevant to the project.
- Ensuring timely entry of OPD/IPD cases for zoonotic diseases reported in IPD/OPD.
- Maintaining all project-related files.
Qualifications
- For Lab Technician: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Microbiology, Laboratory Technology, or Life Sciences from a recognized University/Institute. Distance education qualifications will not be considered.
- For Data Entry Operator (DEO): Graduate with knowledge of Data Entry Work. Typing speed of 40 WPM in English and 30 WPM in Telugu and/or Hindi, with MS-CIT certification. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Application, IT, or Computer Science from a recognized university/institute.
- For Lab Technician (Desirable): Preference given to candidates with experience in ICMR/DHR/CSIR/DBT projects or equivalent medical college/institute projects. A diploma in a related field may also be considered.
- For Data Entry Operator (Desirable): Two years of work experience. Preference given to candidates with experience in ICMR/DHR/CSIR/DBT projects or equivalent medical college/institute projects.
- SSC or 10th class marks card/certificate for proof of date of birth.
- All certificates to support academic qualifications, starting from the Bachelor’s degree.
- Work experience certificates.
- Research experience certificates (for Lab Technician).
- Higher qualification than prescribed, if any.
- Two recent passport-sized photographs.
