Job Description

AXA XL is seeking an Associate Software Engineer for their Bangalore office. This role involves providing Level 2 technical support, focusing on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues within insurance and related applications. The Associate Software Engineer will ensure the high availability and performance of critical business applications, contribute to process improvements, and engage in knowledge management. Responsibilities

  • Resolve escalated incidents from Level 1.5 or through proactive monitoring, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Identify root causes of recurring issues and implement sustainable, long-term solutions.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting using diagnostic tools, application logs, and monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace and IBM Monitoring.
  • Support users by providing in-depth application knowledge and guidance.
  • Lead or assist with release deployments, particularly for complex or high-impact changes.
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for support processes.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Produce clear, reliable, and comprehensive SOP documentation.
  • Support audit and regulatory investigations by providing technical insights and documentation.
  • Assist with testing activities related to patching, disaster recovery testing, and other key AXA XL initiatives.
  • Collaborate with L3 support and application development teams to remediate security issues.
  • Identify opportunities for service improvement and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Robust troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex application issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of the AS400 operating system.
  • SQL proficiency for querying and analyzing data.
