Job Description

This internship offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to Bright Money’s innovative Smart Banking Platform. Interns will be involved in the development, testing, and deployment of scalable components, as well as the creation of smart algorithms and subsystems for lending and user financial communications. The role requires individuals who can devise efficient and straightforward design solutions for complex engineering challenges. The position is on-site and part of the Technology department.

Responsibilities

• Develop, Test, and Deploy scalable components for Bright’s Smart Banking Platform using Django/Python.
• Develop smart algorithms and subsystems for lending and financial communications directed towards users.
• Propose and implement quick and simple design solutions for intricate engineering problems.
• Contribute to performance optimization and generate actionable insights to guide operational decisions and enhance the effectiveness of marketing investments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create marketing and communication strategies.
• Conduct periodic and ad-hoc analyses of user acquisition activities and provide strategic recommendations for investment allocation across various marketing channels.
• Elevate the data proficiency of the team, facilitate access to marketing data, and champion the increased utilization of internal data tools.
• Gain hands-on experience with SQL.
• Apply analytical skills to problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational understanding of problem-solving principles.
• Experience with the integration and development of REST services, particularly over back-end frameworks like Django or Node.js.
• Proficiency in algorithms and data structures.
• Demonstrated ability to impart knowledge through methods such as formal mentoring, code reviews, design document critiques, delivering technical presentations, conducting training sessions, or consulting on projects.
• Some prior experience working with Python-based frameworks.
• Experience in developing solutions for Relational or NoSQL databases at scale.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in competitive programming.
