Job Description
The company is seeking a skilled QA Engineer with a strong focus on manual testing to join their Technology, Digital and Data team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. This role is crucial in ensuring the quality of web and mobile applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive test strategies, meticulously managing test data, and diligently tracking and reporting on quality assurance metrics. This position requires a proactive approach to defect management, close collaboration with development and product teams, and a commitment to delivering high-quality releases within fast-paced agile environments. Familiarity with eCommerce platforms is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities
- Define and implement robust test strategies, detailed test plans, and test cases aligned with functional and non-functional requirements.
- Drive test execution, optimize test coverage, and ensure efficient test environment setup.
- Monitor and report QA metrics regularly to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and actionable insights.
- Log, track, and validate defects; perform root cause analysis and ensure timely resolution.
- Actively participate in scrum ceremonies, provide QA sign-offs, and maintain clear communication with cross-functional teams.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of automation frameworks by identifying areas for automation and collaborating with automation engineers.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality releases in a fast-paced eCommerce environment, adhering to sprint timelines.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in functional, regression, integration, and system testing for web and mobile applications.
- Ability to design detailed test cases and execute them effectively.
- Hands-on experience in creating, managing, and validating test data for diverse scenarios, including edge cases and negative testing.
- Strong working knowledge of Azure Test Plans, JIRA, Zephyr, or equivalent test management and bug tracking tools.
- Ability to define, track, and report key QA metrics such as defect density, test coverage, pass/fail rates, and execution progress using dashboards and reports.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify defects, perform impact analysis, and collaborate on fixes.
- Demonstrated experience working closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
- Familiarity with eCommerce platforms, workflows, payment gateways, and customer journey testing is highly desirable.
