Job Description
As a Catalogue Operations Associate, you will be a hands-on member of the high-impact Catalogue Operations team, reporting to the Global Grocery & Retail Taxonomist. Your primary responsibility will be the efficient and accurate management of product data. This role involves applying a comprehensive product taxonomy to thousands of product lines from global partners, ensuring accuracy, and identifying and rectifying data errors. You will also be responsible for generating high-quality training data for Machine Learning and Generative AI models and serving as a crucial quality control layer to maintain data integrity for customer-facing experiences.

Responsibilities
- Accurately categorize thousands of grocery & retail product lines using a comprehensive product taxonomy, ensuring high accuracy and identifying/rectifying data errors.
- Execute data labeling tasks with high precision to support the training and enhancement of Deliveroo’s Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI (GenAI) models.
- Act as a vital quality control layer, ensuring the integrity of data that underpins customer browsing and other customer-facing experiences across Deliveroo.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated exceptional common sense and logical reasoning abilities, enabling quick and accurate classification of grocery and retail products within a standard supermarket structure, even in ambiguous situations.
- Prior experience in data labeling, high-volume data entry, data management, or quality assurance, preferably within an e-commerce, retail, or grocery context.
- Possess a high level of attention to detail, ensuring impeccable accuracy and adherence to high standards when processing large volumes of data.
- Proven ability to meticulously follow processes and execute tasks efficiently, consistently meeting high daily productivity targets.
- Solid, practical understanding of common food, beverage, and retail product categories typically found in a supermarket.
- Strong practical experience with spreadsheet software such as Google Sheets or Excel, including proficiency in functions like VLOOKUP, filters, and basic formulas for efficient data management and cleaning.
- Fluent in English and comfortable working with product information in various languages from Deliveroo’s operational markets, utilizing internal tools and translation aids as needed.
