Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions.
  • Automate routine operational tasks through the implementation of Python scripts.
  • Manage and maintain code repositories, implement branching strategies, and oversee release workflows within GitHub.
  • Design and establish build, test, and deployment workflows for applications, initially focusing on non-production environments.
  • Create and update essential documentation, including runbooks, pipeline instructions, and deployment procedures.
  • Support the setup of monitoring and logging systems and assist with basic incident resolution.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to enhance the reliability of builds and the consistency of deployments.
  • Adhere to and implement security best practices, such as secure secrets management, the principle of least privilege, and vulnerability scanning.

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge in programming or scripting, particularly with Python.
  • Practical experience with GitHub, including repositories, branching, pull requests, and basic code review processes.
  • Familiarity with GitHub Actions, encompassing workflows, jobs, steps, runners, secrets, and artifacts.
  • A foundational understanding of Linux operating systems, including file management, permissions, and essential command-line operations.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD principles, covering build, test, and deployment stages.
  • Strong communication abilities and a proactive willingness to learn and adapt.
