ISRO Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

The notification prescribes different age limits according to post codes, calculated as of 9 November 2026.

18–35 years: Post codes 07 to 25, 27, 28 and 30.

18–25 years: Post codes 26 and 29, including Fireman ‘A’ and Multi-Tasking Staff.

Age relaxation is available for eligible reserved categories and other specified groups under Government of India rules.

SC/ST candidates: Up to 5 years of upper-age relaxation.

OBC candidates: Up to 3 years for posts reserved for the applicable category.

Ex-Servicemen, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities, eligible Central Government employees and other notified categories: Relaxation as per applicable rules.

Candidates must check the detailed notification to determine their eligibility and applicable relaxation.

ISRO Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection process varies according to the post.

Technical Assistant, Scientific Assistant, Library Assistant, Technician and Draughtsman

The selection process includes a written examination and a skill test.

For the relevant posts, the written examination consists of 80 multiple-choice questions to be completed in 90 minutes. Each correct answer carries one mark, while each incorrect answer attracts a deduction of 0.33 marks. Unanswered questions receive zero marks.

Candidates are shortlisted for the skill test based on written examination performance. The skill test is qualifying in nature, and final selection is based on written examination marks among candidates who qualify in the skill test.

Fireman ‘A’

The selection process includes:

Written examination

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Detailed Medical Examination (DME)

Candidates must satisfy the prescribed physical and medical requirements.

Driver posts and Multi-Tasking Staff

The applicable written test, skill test, driving test or other qualifying requirements depend on the notified post and its selection procedure. Candidates should consult the relevant section of the advertisement for the exact process.

The written test and skill test dates will be announced separately by the recruiting authority.

ISRO Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

The processing fee depends on the post code.

For post codes 07 to 15:

Processing fee: ₹750 per application.

Women, SC/ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen candidates who are exempted from the application fee are eligible for a full refund of ₹750 after appearing in the written test.

Other candidates are eligible for a refund of ₹500 after deduction of the ₹250 application fee, subject to the notification’s conditions.

For post codes 16 to 30:

Processing fee: ₹500 per application.

Eligible exempted candidates are entitled to a full refund after appearing in the written test.

Other candidates are eligible for a refund of ₹400 after deduction of the ₹100 application fee, subject to the notification’s conditions.
