Job Description
The role involves contributing to the development and maintenance of sophisticated software systems within the Land Systems division. This includes designing, implementing, and debugging software solutions, with a focus on distributed architectures and real-time operating systems. The engineer will be responsible for creating tools to enhance development and debugging processes, resolving customer-reported issues, and performing root cause analysis for system anomalies. Responsibilities
- Design and implement software tools to streamline the software system development process and debug environments.
- Participate in and provide support for resolving issues reported from customer sites.
- Analyze system scalability and interworking challenges, conducting root cause analysis for identified system issues.
- Design and implement built-in diagnostics and test code to improve system reliability and supportability.
- Develop software for distributed architecture systems that require inter-process communication.
- Implement communication protocols over various physical layer devices such as Serial, Ethernet, 1553, CAN, NMEA, ModBus, etc.
- Develop and maintain software that adheres to IP protocols, VLANs, and Ethernet switching standards.
- Engage in hands-on software development for large and complex software systems.
- Debug and integrate software components effectively within a larger system.
- Contribute to the overall software lifecycle from design to deployment and support.
