Job Description
Monotype is seeking an Information Security Trainee to join their team. This role will focus on conducting security investigations, managing breach response efforts, and maintaining the security monitoring infrastructure. While prior experience is not strictly required and training will be provided, candidates with relevant experience may be considered. The trainee will collaborate closely with internal Information Technology, Product Assurance, Engineering teams, and Tech Stack Vendors. This position offers the opportunity to analyze threat intelligence from diverse sources, synthesize information to understand implications, identify vulnerabilities, assess cyber threats, and respond to urgent security situations. The role involves applying mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery strategies to protect assets and information, as well as investigating response activities, assisting with malware remediation, and supporting configuration audits of network and operating systems.

Responsibilities
- Analyze threat information from multiple sources, disciplines, and agencies across the Intelligence Community.
- Synthesize and place intelligence information in context; draw insights about the possible implications.
- Analyze collected information to identify vulnerabilities and potential for exploitation.
- Identify and assess the capabilities and activities of cyber criminals or foreign intelligence entities; produce findings to help initialize or support law enforcement and counterintelligence investigations or activities.
- Respond to crisis or urgent situations within the pertinent domain to mitigate immediate and potential threats.
- Use mitigation, preparedness, and response and recovery approaches, as needed, to maximize survival of life, preservation of property, and information security.
- Investigate and analyze all relevant response activities.
- Assist IT in malware remediation.
- Assist IT in configuration auditing of network and operating systems.
Qualifications
- Understanding of network, systems, application, and cloud security, specifically with AWS.
- Understanding of information security concepts.
- Technical communication and analytical skills.
- Time management and organization skills with an aptitude towards creative problem solving.
- Oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology/information security or equivalent.
