Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and support for organizational unit (OU) innovation projects.
  • Serve as a key facilitator in driving and achieving results in the face of challenges.
  • Collaborate with the innovation team to explore new platforms, machine control systems, data processing techniques, and analytics methodologies, while fostering capability development in others.
  • Develop and execute analytical projects aligned with business requirements, leveraging data science tools to address complex process challenges within the region.
  • Innovate new analytical, predictive, and prescriptive modeling methods and tools as needed.
  • Propose prescriptive analytic models to establish robust and fault-tolerant process control strategies, thereby minimizing operational effort and enhancing product quality.
  • Partner with process and equipment experts, as well as application developers, to identify relevant data for analysis.
  • Collaborate with process/equipment owners and IT/OT teams to develop and refine data models that support analytical capabilities, assuming ownership for data model maintenance and development for the designated hub-site.
  • Develop and maintain critical data pipelines across selected sites on a global basis.
  • Contribute to the definition of work processes for deploying and maintaining predictive and analytical modeling architectures, modeling standards, alarming and reporting systems, and data analysis methodologies.
  • Conduct external research to identify analytical modeling products, services, protocols, and standards that can accelerate the smart manufacturing journey.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve performance issues related to prognostic models.
  • Leverage Reliability Engineering principles, augmented by data science, to develop innovative solutions aimed at reducing losses.

Qualifications

  • Sufficient business acumen to discern data relevance, interpret findings, and apply data-driven insights to decision-making.
  • Proficiency in data preparation and processing techniques.
  • Advanced analytical, statistical, and mathematical modeling skills to formulate hypotheses and extract meaningful insights from both structured and unstructured data, effectively transforming raw data into actionable information for improving process and equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Proficient utilization of software tools for data visualization, statistical analysis, and machine learning (ML), including Python, R, SAS, Azure ML, Matlab, PowerBI, and Tableau.
  • Familiarity with functional programming and scripting languages such as .NET, VB, C++, and Python.
  • Understanding of data architecture concepts, encompassing relational database structures, data warehouses, big data management, and data querying techniques.
  • Technical comprehension of mechatronic systems and fundamental engineering principles (process, mechanical, electrical, control, and systems engineering).
  • Experience in advanced analytics, big data technologies, and machine learning methodologies.
  • Experience designing visualizations to enhance user experience and facilitate effective decision-making.
  • Innovative Approach – Demonstrated ability to assess business operations, identify opportunities, and develop compelling business cases.
  • Experience in data engineering using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, SQL, and Knime.
  • Experience in Agile project management (SCRUM, Kanban) and operation in DevOps, CI/CD environments
  • IT Security & Risk – Up-to-date knowledge of modern IT security risks and principles.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively influence stakeholders and collaborate across functional boundaries.
  • Collaborative mindset with clear technical communication skills to explain data models and data analytic solutions to both technical peers and leadership teams.
