Job Description

As an L1 AWS Support Engineer at Rackspace Technology, you will serve as the initial and crucial point of contact for customers encountering challenges with their AWS-based infrastructure and applications. This pivotal role demands rapid analysis, skillful troubleshooting, and effective resolution of a wide spectrum of technical issues spanning various AWS services. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure unparalleled customer satisfaction by delivering timely and effective support, while actively contributing to the refinement of internal processes, knowledge base enhancement, and comprehensive documentation. Responsibilities

Education Qualification

• * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field is required; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• * A minimum of 1-2 years of demonstrable experience in a technical support role is essential, with a strong preference for candidates with experience supporting AWS environments or other cloud-based solutions.
• * Possession of the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification is highly desirable, and Associate-level certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate are considered a significant advantage.
• * Demonstrated experience with incident management processes and familiarity with ticketing systems are crucial for effectively managing and resolving customer issues.
• * Proven experience in customer interaction and a strong commitment to providing exceptional service are fundamental requirements for this role.

Skills

• * A strong and comprehensive understanding of AWS core services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, and CloudWatch, is essential for effectively supporting customer environments.
• * Proficiency in basic troubleshooting techniques for diagnosing and resolving a wide range of technical issues within AWS environments, demonstrating a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
• * Familiarity with command-line interfaces (CLI) and scripting languages such as Bash or PowerShell is highly desirable for automating tasks, managing AWS resources, and improving operational efficiency.
• * Knowledge of fundamental network protocols, essential security principles, and proficiency in operating systems (Linux and Windows) are critical for ensuring the security and stability of customer environments.
• * Excellent communication skills, encompassing both written and verbal communication, are essential, with a proven ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
• * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are paramount, with the ability to quickly assess complex situations, accurately identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
• * The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team is crucial, fostering effective collaboration with colleagues and building strong relationships with customers.
• * A customer-focused approach is essential, demonstrating a genuine commitment to providing exceptional service, proactive support, and consistently exceeding customer expectations.
• * Experience with monitoring tools and alerting systems for detecting performance and availability issues is highly beneficial for proactively identifying and resolving potential problems.
• * Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation or Terraform is considered a significant advantage, enabling efficient and consistent infrastructure deployment and management.
