redBus Data Decode Hackathon 2025
The primary objective of this hackathon is to forecast passenger volumes for specific travel dates, with a prediction window spanning 15 days prior to departure.
A particularly noteworthy challenge in this domain stems from the distinct pattern of bus bookings, which tend to cluster closer to the actual departure date. To overcome this obstacle, we are inviting the data science community to actively engage in our upcoming hackathon.

It significantly influences marketing initiatives, promotional discounting strategies, search engine optimization (SEO) efforts, and various other critical business functions. The core challenge lies in the fact that fewer than 20% of bus bookings occur sufficiently in advance, resulting in limited early indicators for accurate demand prediction. This inherent complexity necessitates innovative and data-driven solutions.
Participation can be either on an individual basis or as part of a team.
Each team can consist of a maximum of five members.
To invite teammates, they must also be registered for the Hackathon.
Registration solely on the Analytics Vidhya platform is insufficient; all teammates must individually register for the Hackathon after logging into the platform using their respective email addresses.
Team participation is optional.
Once a team has been created, members cannot participate in another team.
Once a team member has joined a team, they cannot leave or switch to another team.
Team leaders are not permitted to dissolve a team once it has been formed.
Only the top three submissions in the Hackathon will be eligible to receive prizes.
