About the Company
The Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) in Hyderabad is a Research Institute under the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC), Department of Biotechnology, fully funded by the Government of India. CDFD provides services in DNA fingerprinting and genetic disorder diagnosis and conducts high-caliber basic research across various modern biology domains.
Job Description
Multiple job descriptions included depending on the role:
Technical Officer – I: The Technical Officer will provide support to Scientific and service Laboratories within CDFD. Additionally, the officer will assist in facilities such as the Sophisticated Equipment Facility, the Experimental Animal Facility, the BSL-3, and Genomics facility.
Technical Assistant: The Technical Assistant will manage and coordinate experimental laboratory operations and data analysis at our genomics facility. Key responsibilities include ensuring timely project delivery, implementing Quality Assurance measures, and maintaining high operational standards. The role also entails processing blood samples, body parts, skeletal remains, preserved specimens, admixture samples, vaginal smears, saliva samples, semen stains, and other biological evidence provided by law enforcement agencies/collected from crime scenes for nucleic acid isolation, manipulation, genotyping, and data analysis. Further responsibilities include establishing a DNA-based population database for various Indian populations, preparing DNA examination reports, providing evidence deposition in courts of law, and interacting with law enforcement personnel.
Junior Managerial Assistant: The Junior Managerial Assistant will be responsible for taking dictations, typing letters, and providing assistance to the Admin Section on day-to-day administrative tasks.
Junior Assistant – II: The Junior Assistant will handle payroll administration, process bills, scrutinize files/documents, manage project funds, and prepare Utilization Certificates (UC) and Statements of Expenditure (SOEs).

Qualifications
- Technical Officer – I:
First class B.Sc. with 5 years of relevant experience
OR
M.Sc. or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience. - Technical Assistant:
First class B.Sc. / B.Tech. with three years of relevant experience
OR
Post Graduate degree in Science / Technology
OR
PG Diploma in Science / Technology with one year of relevant experience. - Junior Managerial Assistant:
Applicants must possess a Graduate degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Government Office, Public Body, or reputable organization. Equivalent experience gained (i) in the private sector, within a company incorporated under the Companies Act 1956, and/or (ii) in an Institute registered under the Societies Act is also acceptable. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in English Typewriting at 30 wpm and Shorthand English at 80 wpm.
- Junior Assistant – II:
Candidates must possess a 12th Class or equivalent qualification from a recognized Board or University, with a typing speed of 35 w.p.m. in English or 30 w.p.m. in Hindi on a Computer.
- Skilled Work Assistant – II:
Matriculate or equivalent from a recognized Board / Institute.
