Job Description

Honeywell is seeking a motivated Fresher or Entry-Level DevOps Engineer who is eager to develop expertise in CI/CD automation, fundamental cloud and infrastructure concepts, and enhancing developer productivity. The ideal candidate should possess proficiency in Python scripting and be comfortable utilizing GitHub and GitHub Actions for the creation and maintenance of automated workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines leveraging GitHub Actions.
  • Automate routine operational tasks through the development of Python scripts.
  • Manage code repositories, branching strategies, and release workflows within GitHub.
  • Design and implement build, test, and deploy automation workflows for applications, initially focusing on non-production environments.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including runbooks, pipeline guides, and deployment procedures.
  • Provide support for monitoring and logging systems, as well as assist in basic incident troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with development teams to enhance build reliability and deployment consistency.
  • Adhere to security best practices, including secrets management, the principle of least privilege, and code scanning.

Qualifications

  • Foundational knowledge of programming and scripting, particularly in Python.
  • Practical experience with GitHub, including repositories, branching, pull requests, and basic code review processes.
  • Exposure to GitHub Actions, encompassing workflows, job and step configurations, runners, secrets management, and artifacts.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems, including file system concepts, permissions, and essential command-line operations.
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles, covering build, test, and deploy stages.
  • Strong communication abilities and a demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow.
