Job Description
Leadsquared is seeking an Intern SRE to join their team. As an SRE intern, you will be instrumental in ensuring the high availability and performance of their production environment, focusing on improving the efficiency and reliability of their SaaS services. This role involves optimal capacity planning for their cloud infrastructure, which is entirely hosted on AWS. You will also be involved in incident management, including responding to emergencies and implementing timely, high-quality solutions to mitigate issues. The SRE team collaborates closely with DevOps, InfoSec, and Engineering teams to conduct thorough root cause analyses for all incidents, ensuring preventive actions are implemented and meticulously documented. You will gain experience with cutting-edge tools such as NewRelic, SumoLogic, Grafana, Loggly, PagerDuty, Site24x7, FreshService, Kibana, and Akamai, as well as various AWS services including RDS, ESS, ELK, ECS, EC2, VPCs, Redis, and Lambda. This internship offers an opportunity to move beyond mere monitoring and actively contribute to enhancing system observability.

Responsibilities
- Monitor the availability and performance of the production environment.
- Improve the efficiency and reliability of SaaS services.
- Perform optimal capacity planning for cloud infrastructure hosted on AWS.
- Manage incidents, including emergency response and timely issue mitigation.
- Conduct root cause analysis for all issues and execute documented preventive actions.

Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 0-1 years of experience in an SRE role on cloud-based applications (preferably AWS).
- Hands-on experience with observability, monitoring, alerts management, incident management, and RCA management across major AWS services (EC2, RDS, Elasticsearch, Redis, SQS, API Gateway, Lambda, etc.) and monitoring tools.
- Experience monitoring multi-tenant SaaS environments, including web applications, database services, APIs, and backend jobs.
- Experience handling live production incidents, debugging/troubleshooting application and infrastructure issues, and implementing SRE best practices.
- Ability to gather and analyze performance metrics from OS and applications.
- Exceptional documentation and strong interpersonal communication skills (listening, speaking, writing).
- A proactive approach to identifying problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks.
- Ability to program in at least one language like Python.
- Certification in AWS/ITIL is a plus.
- Ability to create and collaborate effectively in a diverse, team-focused environment with DevOps and engineering teams.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
