Job Description

McKinsey & Company is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Research Science Analyst.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and developing databases through comprehensive research of central bank documents and commercial bank annual reports from around the world. This involves extracting critical data and incorporating research findings into a standardized data architecture, facilitating information sharing with users of a global market-sizing database. This role is located within our McKinsey Knowledge Center in Gurgaon and is an integral part of the Global Banking Pools team (GBP), which operates under the umbrella of the Panorama Financial Institutions and Insights consulting team (PFIC). PFIC stands as one of the largest knowledge teams globally within the FIG practice, comprising approximately 230 members and boasting a global presence across more than 25 countries. Our focus is centered on various aspects of financial services, including but not limited to retail banking, corporate and investment banking, wealth and asset management, fintech, and insurance. The Global Banking Pools team is specifically dedicated to product-level market sizing across the entire spectrum of global banking revenues, assisting clients in formulating data-driven market strategies.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• A foundational understanding of banking economics and macroeconomic principles is essential.
• Familiarity with bank financial reports is considered a valuable asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with R, Python, other advanced analytics tools, or programming languages is advantageous.
• A strong analytical aptitude, demonstrating the capability to synthesize intricate relationships, is necessary.
• A keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to ensuring data accuracy are crucial.
• The ability to perform effectively under pressure and adhere to stringent deadlines is required.
