Software Engineer Intern – Job Description

Cloudflare is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to join their Bengaluru team for an in-office internship program. This role offers a unique opportunity for aspiring engineers to work on impactful projects that affect millions of internet users worldwide. Interns will collaborate with experienced engineers, contribute to core product development, and gain invaluable experience in developing at internet scale. This is a full-time, 12-16 week internship focused on practical application and learning within a dynamic tech environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and ship code that impacts millions of internet properties within a 12-16 week timeframe.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
• Work closely with a dedicated mentor to receive guidance and support throughout the internship.
• Actively participate in company social events, networking programs, and Employee Resource Groups.
• Present project outcomes and learnings to the entire company at the conclusion of the internship.
• Engage with and learn from Cloudflare’s executive leadership team, including co-founders.
• Participate in professional development workshops to enhance technical and soft skills.
• Contribute to the Cloudflare blog and potentially be featured in Cloudflare.tv sessions.
• Demonstrate curiosity, proactivity, and an ability to drive projects to completion.
• Gain hands-on experience in developing software for internet-scale infrastructure.

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills and a strong drive to learn and adapt to new technologies.
• Exhibit curiosity, empathy, and a proven ability to complete tasks and projects.
• Commitment to completing a minimum 12-week summer internship.
• Availability to work in the Bengaluru office 3-5 days per week.
• Strong academic record in a relevant technical discipline.
• Passion for software development, evidenced by personal projects, open-source contributions, or relevant coursework.
