Job Description

We are seeking a talented Backend Developer to join our innovative team. This role involves contributing to the development of a sophisticated backend cloud infrastructure, focusing on building a fault-tolerant, real-time stream processing system. The primary technology stack will involve Java/Scala and Google Cloud Platform, with an emphasis on creating a highly available API for our customers. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including the development of complex backend API infrastructure, reactive streaming architectures, and cloud-native, highly available APIs. The ideal candidate will thrive in an environment focused on scaling a product from hundreds to millions of monthly visitors, processing thousands of transactions daily. You will leverage your expertise in server design and implementation, and contribute to growing a product that serves a significant user base.

Responsibilities

• Develop scalable Node.js and Java applications.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
• Write clean, maintainable, and high-quality code.
• Conduct comprehensive testing and debugging to ensure software quality and stability.
• Proactively stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain a fault-tolerant, real-time stream processing system on the cloud.
• Build and manage cloud-native, highly available APIs for customer use.
• Design and implement server-side logic and infrastructure.
• Work with streaming/reactive architectures.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Node.js and Java development.
• Demonstrated experience with JVM-based languages such as Scala.
• Strong understanding of server design and implementation principles.
• Solid knowledge of MongoDB for efficient data handling and cloud infrastructure setup.
• Proficiency in Git and other version control systems.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience or strong interest in setting up MongoDB-based cloud infrastructure from scratch.
• Preference for using a minimal set of simple tools over a diverse range of complex ones.
• Experience in growing a product from hundreds to millions of visitors per month, making thousands of transactions a day.
