Job Description

Swiggy is actively seeking highly motivated individuals to join our engineering team as Software Development Engineer I (SDE-1). As an Android SDE-1, you will be instrumental in the development and enhancement of our Android mobile application, a critical tool used by millions of users to order food, groceries, and dine-in services, all while enjoying a seamless delivery experience. This role provides an exceptional opportunity to collaborate with a talented team of Android developers and gain invaluable practical experience in the dynamic field of application development. We are in search of an accomplished Android Software Development Engineer (SDE-1) to become an integral part of our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for mobile technology and a demonstrated history of successfully delivering high-quality Android applications. The SDE-1 will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of Android applications that not only meet user expectations but also set new industry benchmarks.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-performance Android applications utilizing Kotlin and other applicable technologies.
• Collaborate closely with the Android development team to gain a thorough understanding of the application’s architecture, codebase, and functionality.
• Participate in the design, implementation, and rigorous testing of new features and enhancements to the Swiggy Android application.
• Work in coordination with backend developers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data transfer between the application and the server infrastructure.
• Actively engage in code reviews to uphold code quality standards and adherence to established best practices.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, developing innovative solutions to maintain optimal application performance and ensure user satisfaction.
• Maintain a current awareness of the latest trends, frameworks, and technologies in Android development.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend developers, to guarantee seamless integration of new features.
• Proactively contribute ideas and suggestions to improve user experience and overall application performance.
• Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of existing features and functionalities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Proficient understanding of Kotlin and the Android SDK.
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns.
• Exceptional problem-solving and debugging capabilities.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
