Job Description

Canonical seeks a Web Developer with a genuine passion for their craft. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of web standards, remains current with industry developments, and actively seeks opportunities to enhance their skill set. Responsibilities

• Develop high-fidelity websites and web applications leveraging the latest versions of HTML, CSS (SCSS), and JavaScript (React and TypeScript).
• Maintain existing projects, including updating content and adding new features.
• Manage incoming update requests and coordinate with or delegate tasks to other team members as needed.
• Ensure consistent high standards across Canonical’s entire product portfolio.
• Ensure new pages are published according to established specifications and in adherence to the company’s web style guide.
• Actively participate in and contribute to the Vanilla Framework, Canonical’s living style guide.
• Collaborate closely with UX and visual designers to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in developing contemporary web applications.
• Comprehensive understanding of HTML, CSS (with SCSS), and JavaScript.
• Proficiency with JavaScript component libraries.
• Experience utilizing TypeScript.
• Experience designing and implementing responsive user interfaces optimized for a diverse range of devices and browsers.
• Familiarity with Git or comparable version control systems.
• Understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles and best practices.
• Commitment to incorporating accessibility considerations into all facets of development work.
• Solid grasp of web performance optimization techniques within complex user interfaces.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with UX designers and server-side developers.
