JOB DESCRIPTION:
South Central Railway (SCR), Secunderabad Division, has released a notification for the engagement of M-UTS Sahayaks at 12 railway stations. A total of 17 M-UTS Sahayak positions are available under the pilot project, with the engagement period valid up to 30 June 2027, subject to continuation of the scheme.
Both retired Railway employees and the general public can apply. However, preference will be given to retired Railway employees. The notification is dated 21 August 2026, and applications must be submitted offline on the specified date.

What is the Work of an M-UTS Sahayak?
The M-UTS Sahayak facilitates the issue of unreserved railway tickets through the Mobile-UTS system. The Sahayak has to collect the applicable fare and issue tickets to passengers using the M-UTS facility.
The work includes issuing eligible journey tickets, assisting passengers in using the UTS mobile application, maintaining the ticketing area properly and guiding passengers during busy periods.
The engagement involves rotational shifts, and the M-UTS counter may operate round the clock according to the station’s requirements.
Education Required:
For Retired Railway Employees
Retired Railway employees from all departments are eligible, provided they have passed at least 10th class or equivalent. They must have retired through normal superannuation or voluntary retirement.
Employees who were dismissed, removed or compulsorily retired under DAR rules, or those with records involving embezzlement, fraud, serious indiscipline or misconduct, are not eligible.
For General Public
General-public applicants must:
Be 18 years of age or above
Have passed 10th class or equivalent
Be a resident of the local district where the applied station is located
Submit the required police verification certificate
Meet all other conditions mentioned in the notification.
M-UTS Sahayak Salary / Earnings

This is an important point for applicants.
South Central Railway will not pay a regular salary, wages, remuneration or allowances for this engagement. Instead, eligible applicants can receive a prescribed ticket bonus based on ticket sales.
The notification specifies the following bonus structure:
3% for journeys up to 150 km
2% for journeys between 151 km and 500 km
1% for tickets beyond 500 kmThe eligible bonus is credited to the M-UTS Sahayak’s Advance Ticket Deposit account.
Security Deposit and Advance Ticket Deposit
For the general public, the refundable security deposit is ₹1,00,000. For selected retired Railway employees, the security deposit is ₹20,000.
Applicants are also required to deposit an Advance Ticket Deposit (ATD) of at least ₹50,000 per ticket roll at the serving station.
Applicants should therefore carefully understand the financial requirements before applying.
Application Fee / EMD
Both categories are required to submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹10,000 in the prescribed form along with the application. The EMD of unsuccessful applicants will be refunded according to Railway procedure.
Selection Process
If the number of applications received for a particular station exceeds the available requirement, selection will be conducted through a draw of lots. Preference will be given to retired Railway employees.
The final selection is made by a committee of Railway officers, and the decision of the committee is final.
