Job Description

The Campus Associate will be a key member of Colgate’s Information Technology team, operating in a dynamic technology environment. This role is focused on driving growth for Colgate Palmolive by understanding business needs and providing direction to engineering teams to meet data requirements across various functions. The position involves establishing architecture principles, developing data models to support business architecture implementation, creating diagrams of key data entities, and cataloging data necessary for the architecture vision. The role will leverage modern cloud data platform technologies such as Snowflake, BigQuery, DBT, Apache Airflow, Apache Iceberg, and Spark. A primary focus will be on developing and leading the vision for both external and internal data within this modern cloud data platform. The successful candidate will be comfortable taking a lead role in technology deployment evolution across the company’s global operations.

Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into long-term architecture solutions for syndicated, point of sale, and indirect trade data.
• Define, design, and architect solutions, coordinating and communicating with Global IT Teams for implementation.
• Define, design, and build data models for business utilization.
• Evaluate the reusability of existing data for additional analytical purposes.
• Review object and data models, along with the metadata repository, to optimize data structure for enhanced management and quicker access.
• Define data storage, consumption, coordination, and leadership by various data entities and IT systems.
• Collaborate with the data management team on best practices for data sourcing, key data elements, data quality management, and metadata.
• Engage with the data warehousing team regarding migration to cloud warehousing.
• Provide data initiatives, evaluations, and mentorship for projects in alignment with corporate guidelines.
• Develop expertise in diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles.
• Support daily business requirements in accordance with global Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Ensure the proper application of IT project management methodologies to align with governance practices.
• Collaborate with business/functional teams to develop detailed plans and accurate estimates for project build, system testing, and implementation.
• Mentor and coach junior developer resources.
• Conduct performance tuning to improve system performance across multiple business processes.
• Stay updated with the latest technological advancements, adapt to changes through self-training and research, and evaluate potential business value.
• Build expertise in diverse and emerging technologies and new architectural concepts and principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
• 0 to 1+ years of professional experience as a data analyst, analytics/data platform engineer, data engineer, or a similar role involving the development of conceptual, logical, and preliminary physical models for an enterprise.
• Experience with cloud data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL and Python.
• Experience working within cloud environments (e.g., GCP, AWS).
• Good Communication and Interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to undergo training and obtain certifications in designated technologies.
