Educational Qualification
Graduate Engineer – Grade A
Candidates must possess a full-time regular B.Tech, BE or equivalent qualification in the prescribed engineering discipline from an institution recognized by AICTE or UGC.
For General, EWS and OBC (NCL) candidates, the minimum required percentage is generally 65%, while SC, ST and PwBD candidates require 55%. The notification specifies eligible disciplines separately for each engineering domain.
Candidates with integrated or dual-degree ME/M.Tech qualifications may also be eligible under the conditions specified in the notification. The required final marksheet/degree documents must be available by 30 September 2026.
Officer – Marketing
Candidates must have a two-year full-time regular MBA or equivalent PG Diploma in Business Administration, recognized as equivalent to MBA by AIU, with specialization in Marketing Management.
The minimum marks requirement is 60% for General/EWS/OBC (NCL) and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
Law Officer
Candidates must possess either:
A graduation degree in any discipline along with an LLB, or
A five-year integrated LLB degree.
For General/EWS/OBC (NCL) candidates, the prescribed minimum is 60%, while SC/ST/PwBD candidates require 55% in the applicable degrees. The LLB qualification must be recognized by the Bar Council of India.
Assistant Quality Control Officer
Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Chemistry or one of the specified branches such as Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry.
The minimum marks requirement is 60% for General/EWS/OBC (NCL) and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
Diploma Engineer
Candidates can apply with a three-year Diploma in Engineering in the prescribed discipline. The notification includes Electrical and Mechanical disciplines, along with Safety qualifications and a detailed list of eligible engineering diploma disciplines.
The usual minimum requirement is 65% for General/EWS/OBC (NCL) and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.

Work Experience
Post-qualification experience is specifically required for the Law Officer and Assistant Quality Control Officer positions.
For the Law Officer post, candidates need a minimum of two years of post-qualification professional experience as on 30 June 2026. Experience may include legal practice in courts or tribunals, work with law firms, legal functions in private or public sector organizations, or legal functions in Central or State Government organizations.
For Assistant Quality Control Officer, the notification requires two years of cumulative post-qualification experience in relevant Testing, R&D or Quality Control work in petroleum, petrochemical, polymer or fertilizer unit laboratories and/or qualifying experience in an NABL-accredited laboratory meeting the specified requirements.
Internships, teaching experience, part-time work and short-term trainee experience are not counted as relevant experience for these requirements.

The selection process consists of three major stages:

Personal InterviewThe CBT contains 100 objective multiple-choice questions. Section A consists of General Aptitude, including Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Verbal Ability in English. Section B consists of 50 questions on Domain Knowledge.
Each question carries one mark, and 0.25 marks are deducted for every incorrect answer.
For General, EWS and OBC (NCL) candidates, the minimum CBT requirement is 40% in each section and 45% overall. For SC/ST candidates, it is 35% in each section and 40% overall, while PwBD candidates require 25% in each section and 30% overall.
The final merit list gives 85% weightage to CBT, 5% to GD/GT and 10% to the Personal Interview. The minimum pass mark for GD/GT and PI is 40%. The prescribed composite-score thresholds are 45% for General/EWS/OBC (NCL), 40% for SC/ST and 30% for PwBD candidates.
IndianOil Recruitment 2026 Application Fee
SC, ST and PwBD candidates are exempted from the application fee.
Candidates from other categories have to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₹1,000 plus applicable GST. Applicable payment or transaction charges are also payable by the candidate.
The payment can be made through debit card, credit card, internet banking, IMPS, mobile wallets or UPI.
