Location: Chennai
Role: Cloud Operations Engineer / Linux Administrator
About Zoho: Zoho’s Cloud Operations team oversees critical infrastructure spread across multiple data centers globally. We prioritize ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our cloud-based services.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain server hardware, Linux OS, and related software.
- Monitor server and application availability and performance, ensuring swift service restoration.
- Manage virtual machines using in-house tools.
- Handle infrastructure components like DNS, DHCP, NTP, and Load Balancers.
- Implement security measures and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Automate administrative tasks using Bash or Python scripting.
- Monitor databases and other components like Hadoop, taking necessary actions during failures.
- Conduct DR Drills periodically based on the Disaster Recovery Plan.
- Collaborate with various teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Work in a 24×7 rotational shift.
Requirements:
- 1-4 years of experience as a Linux Administrator.
- Proficiency in Linux OS and cloud infrastructure.
- Familiarity with web servers like Apache/Nginx.
- Experience with automated Linux OS provisioning.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts.
- Understanding of infrastructure components like DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc.
- Knowledge of automation tools like Puppet and Ansible.
- Proficiency in shell/python scripting.
- Understanding of server hardware components.
- Basic grasp of SaaS components like RDBMS, NoSQL, Hadoop.
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a 24×7 rotational shift environment.
