Job Description

Cornerstone is seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented interns to join our dynamic Security Operations Center (SOC) team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a real-world cybersecurity environment, focusing primarily on the monitoring, analysis, and securing of our cloud infrastructure. This is an ideal role for individuals with a passion for cybersecurity and cloud technologies who are eager to contribute to a critical team function and develop their professional skills. Responsibilities

• **Security Monitoring:** Proactively monitor our cloud infrastructure for security events and anomalies, utilizing industry-leading tools and dashboards. This includes identifying, analyzing, and prioritizing potential threats and vulnerabilities with a focus on prompt escalation and reporting. You will be involved in the detailed examination of security logs and alerts, correlating data to identify patterns and potential risks.
• **Incident Response:** Actively participate in the investigation and response to security incidents and breaches. This involves following established incident response procedures, meticulously documenting the incident lifecycle, mitigation actions taken, and crucial lessons learned for future improvements.
• **Threat Analysis:** Collaborate with the team in the detection and analysis of emerging cyber threats, leveraging advanced tools such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms. This will involve researching and understanding threat actors, tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and contributing to the improvement of our threat detection capabilities.
• **Policy Adherence:** Contribute to ensuring compliance with all relevant security policies, standards, and best practices across our cloud environments. This will involve assisting in the enforcement of these policies and identifying areas for improvement in security posture.
• **Learning & Development:** Gain invaluable practical experience with cutting-edge SOC tools and processes. This role actively supports continuous learning through participation in training, self-directed study, and staying abreast of the latest security trends, tools, and techniques.
• **Collaboration:** Effectively collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams to identify, address, and remediate security issues, enhancing overall organizational security and resilience. This will foster teamwork and communication skills in a collaborative environment.

Education Qualification

• Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. A strong academic record is preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of fundamental cybersecurity concepts, cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP), and networking principles (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls).
• Experience with security tools (e.g., SIEM platforms like Splunk or QRadar, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems) is highly desirable but not required.
• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
• A demonstrable passion for learning and adapting to the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity challenges. A proactive and self-motivated approach to learning and problem-solving is essential.
