KYC Operations Analyst – Job Description
MoonPay is seeking a detail-oriented KYC Operations Analyst to join their team in Bengaluru or remotely. This full-time position will be instrumental in ensuring compliance and mitigating risk within our customer onboarding processes. The KYC Operations Analyst will conduct thorough identity and due diligence reviews, contributing to MoonPay’s commitment to security and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute comprehensive end-to-end KYC and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews across all customer risk segments.
- Conduct in-depth EDD investigations for high-risk individuals, including detailed analysis of identity, source of funds, and source of wealth.
- Assess financial crime, sanctions, and jurisdictional risks, escalating potential Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with clear, documented investigative findings.
- Collaborate effectively with Compliance, Fraud, and Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) teams to resolve complex escalations and ensure consistent risk assessment.
- Maintain high quality assurance standards and meet productivity key performance indicators (KPIs) in a high-volume operational setting.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for KYC/EDD-related inquiries from customer-facing and operational teams.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of operational processes, workflows, and documentation to support scalable identity verification.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and propose data-driven solutions to enhance quality, speed, and risk control measures.
- Provide project support and training to internal teams and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partners.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in KYC, AML, compliance operations, or a regulated operational environment.
- Demonstrated experience with customer onboarding or due diligence processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to meticulously follow established procedures.
- Proven ability to produce accurate and well-documented work outputs.
- Strong analytical skills to assess customer information and identify potential risk indicators.
- Capacity to escalate issues clearly and appropriately.
- Flexibility to work weekends as per business requirements.
