United India Insurance Company Limited (UIIC) has released the UIIC AO Recruitment 2026 notification for recruitment to the post of Administrative Officer (Scale I) in Generalists and Hindi Officer disciplines. UIIC has announced 225 provisional vacancies:
Administrative Officer – Generalists: 200 vacancies
Administrative Officer – Hindi Officers: 25 vacancies
For Generalists, the category-wise vacancies are ST 18, SC 30, OBC 62, EWS 22 and UR 68. For Hindi Officers, the vacancies are ST 1, SC 4, OBC 7, EWS 2 and UR 11. PwBD reservation is provided horizontally as per the notification.
Candidates should note that they can apply for either Generalists or Hindi Officers, but not both. Multiple applications or appearances can result in cancellation of candidature.
Education Required:
Candidates must have a Graduate Degree or Post Graduate qualification in any discipline from a recognized university. The notification specifically includes disciplines such as Engineering, Arts, Science, Commerce, Agriculture and Data Science.
Candidates must have secured:
60% marks for General/EWS/OBC candidates
55% marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidatesWorking knowledge of computers is also mandatory.
Educational Qualification for Hindi Officers
Candidates must possess a relevant Master’s Degree involving Hindi and English, with 60% marks for the general category and 55% marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates.
The notification specifies several eligible combinations, including Master’s Degree in Hindi with English, English with Hindi, or another subject with the prescribed Hindi/English medium and subject requirements.
The required qualification must have been completed on or before 30 June 2026. Candidates whose final examination results were declared after this date are not eligible under the notification.
UIIC AO Age Limit 2026
The age limit is 21 to 30 years as on 30 June 2026.
Candidates must have been born between 30 June 1996 and 30 June 2005, both dates inclusive.

Preliminary Examination → Main Examination → Descriptive Test → Interview
Candidates who qualify the required stages will be shortlisted for the interview.
Tier-I: Preliminary Examination
The Preliminary Examination is common to both Generalists and Hindi Officers.

The Generalist Main Examination consists of 250 marks of objective tests followed by a 30-mark descriptive test.

For Hindi Officers, the objective examination carries 200 marks, followed by a 50-mark descriptive test.

Computer KnowledgeThe Professional Knowledge section covers Hindi and English grammar/vocabulary, Official Language implementation, relevant Acts/Rules and English-Hindi/Hindi-English translation.
The descriptive paper includes English Essay, Hindi Essay, Hindi Letter Writing, English-to-Hindi Translation and Hindi-to-English Translation, for a total of 50 marks.
Negative Marking
There is a penalty for incorrect answers in both Preliminary and Main objective examinations. For every wrong answer, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. There is no penalty for unanswered questions.
UIIC AO Final Selection
For Generalists, the marks obtained in the Main Examination Objective Test and Interview will be considered for the final merit list in the ratio of:
Online Main Examination: 75%
Interview: 25%The Preliminary Examination and Descriptive Test marks are not considered for the final merit list for Generalists.
For Hindi Officers, the Main Examination, including Objective and Descriptive Tests, and Interview are considered in the ratio of 75:25. Preliminary Examination marks are not considered for final selection.

SALARY :
The basic pay for UIIC Administrative Officer (Scale I) is:₹82,485 – ₹4,050 (14) – ₹1,39,185 – ₹4,390 (4) – ₹1,56,745In addition to basic pay, selected candidates are eligible for applicable allowances and benefits.The notification mentions benefits including:Gratuity Leave Travel/Travel-related benefits Medical benefits Group Personal Accident Insurance National Pension System (NPS) Leased accommodation, as per company rulesThe approximate gross pay is ₹1,10,000 per month at metropolitan centres.
