Job Description

Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE), a leading research facility within the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) of India, is seeking meritorious Indian Nationals to apply for Research Fellowships. These positions are available for both Research Associates (RA) and Junior Research Fellows (JRF) across various engineering disciplines. Responsibilities

  • Conduct research in specified engineering disciplines relevant to aeronautical development.
  • Engage in design and analysis related to composite structures, advanced composite materials, radar absorbing structures, and aircraft structures.
  • Utilize high-frequency solvers and explore low-observable structure/radome design.
  • Potentially contribute to research in aeroelasticity, weight optimization, electromagnetic design, and material design.
  • Maintain good knowledge of aircraft structures and relevant applications.
  • For RA: Pursue PhD-level research or conduct research and design with post-ME/M.Tech experience.
  • For JRF: Undertake research as per the defined qualifications and in assigned engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

  • For Research Associate (RA) – Aero/Mechanical Engineering: PhD in Aeronautical/Mechanical Engineering with expertise in composite structures, advanced composite materials for aerospace, optimized light structures, and aeroelasticity. OR M.E./M.Tech in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering (first division) with at least three years of post-ME/M.Tech research and design experience in aircraft structures using advanced composite materials, optimization, and aeroelasticity. Desirable: Aeroelasticity, weight optimization in aircraft structures, and good knowledge of aircraft structures.
  • For Research Associate (RA) – Aero/Electronics/Material Engineering: PhD in Aeronautical/Electronics/Material Engineering with expertise in radar absorbing structures, electromagnetic design and analysis of aircraft structures using high-frequency solvers, and low-observable structure/radome design. OR M.E./M.Tech in Aeronautical/Electronics/Material Engineering (first division) with expertise in the aforementioned areas and a minimum of two years of experience. Desirable: Knowledge and experience in electromagnetic design and analysis of aircraft, radar absorbing material design, Python coding, RCS measurement, and AI/ML for material/aircraft structure design. Good knowledge of aircraft structures.
  • For Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Aeronautical Engineering: B.E./B.Tech. in First Division with a valid GATE score OR M.E./M.Tech. with First Division at both graduate and postgraduate levels.
  • For Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Mechanical Engineering: B.E./B.Tech. in First Division with a valid GATE score OR M.E./M.Tech. with First Division at both graduate and postgraduate levels.
  • For Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Computer Science Engineering: B.E./B.Tech. in First Division with a valid GATE score OR M.E./M.Tech. with First Division at both graduate and postgraduate levels.
  • For Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Electronics & Communication Engineering: B.E./B.Tech. in First Division with a valid GATE score OR M.E./M.Tech. with First Division at both graduate and postgraduate levels.

Are there any age restrictions for the fellowship positions?

Yes, the maximum age limit is 35 years for Research Associates (RA) and 28 years for Junior Research Fellows (JRF) as of the application submission closing date. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST and OBC candidates as per Government rules.

What documents are required to be submitted with the application?

No, TA/DA will not be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
