Software Engineer (24, 25 Grads – Golang) – Job Description
Visa is seeking enthusiastic Software Engineers for its 2024 and 2025 graduate intake in Bengaluru, India, with a focus on Golang. This full-time hybrid role involves developing and maintaining scalable microservices architecture, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leveraging cloud technologies. Successful candidates will contribute to innovative payment solutions while adhering to best software engineering practices in a hybrid work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust applications using Golang or Java, adhering to clean code principles and best software engineering practices.
- Design, implement, and scale reliable and secure microservices architectures to meet evolving business requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with engineering and product management teams to refine and deliver technical solutions.
- Utilize and integrate various AWS services, including SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, S3, and EventBridge, in daily development tasks.
- Provision, maintain, and evolve AWS infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
- Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure high code quality and system stability.
- Monitor application health and performance proactively using established observability tools, analyzing metrics, logs, and alerts.
- Actively participate in code reviews, offering and incorporating constructive feedback to enhance team output.
- Contribute to strategic architectural and technical discussions, driving continuous improvement and fostering innovation within the engineering team.
- Ensure compliance with hybrid work expectations by working from the Bengaluru office at least three days per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, OR 6 months to 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Golang programming.
- Ability to adapt to and work with other programming languages such as Java/Groovy or other JVM-related technologies.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with AWS Services or other major cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of distributed transactions and the ability to identify and resolve race conditions.
- Experience or familiarity with Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and automation tools like Jenkins, CodeFresh, ArgoCD, Artifactory, and Git.
