Total 19Out of the eight MV Mechanic vacancies, two vacancies are earmarked for Ex-Servicemen (ESM). These vacancies are included within the total vacancies and will be adjusted horizontally against the applicable community reservation.
India Post Skilled Artisan Salary 2026
Candidates selected for Skilled Artisan/Tradesmen posts will receive a salary under Level 2 of the 7th Pay Commission.
– Pay Scale: ₹19,900 – ₹63,200
– Pay Level: Level 2
– Additional Benefits: Admissible allowances as per government rules.
The notification also specifies a probation period of one year.

What you will do
Follow the steps below:
1. Prepare the application on plain paper using the prescribed application format provided in the notification.
2. Fill in all the required personal, educational and technical qualification details.
3. Mention the trade for which you are applying.
4. Affix a recent passport-size photograph in the prescribed space and self-attest it.
5. Attach self-attested photocopies of all the required certificates.
6. Sign the application form.
7. Place the application in an envelope and clearly mention the name of the trade applied for.
8. Send the completed application through Speed Post only to the address mentioned below.

Education & Age Required:
1. Candidates should possess a certificate in the respective trade from a Technical Institution recognized by the Government.
2. Alternatively, candidates who have passed Class 8th must possess one year of experience in the respective trade.
Additional Requirement for MV Mechanic:
Candidates applying for the Motor Vehicle Mechanic (MV Mechanic) trade must possess a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) Driving Licence to drive vehicles in service for testing purposes.
Age Limit
The notification specifies the age limit for direct recruitment as follows:
– Minimum Age: 18 Years
– Maximum Age: 30 Years
The age limit is calculated as on 01 July 2018, as specified in the notification.

The selection of candidates for India Post Skilled Artisan Recruitment 2026 will be based on a Competitive Trade Test.
Candidates must possess the required educational qualifications and relevant trade experience. Applicants for the MV Mechanic trade must also have a valid HMV Driving Licence.
The trade test will be conducted based on the syllabus prescribed for the respective trade.
Eligible candidates will receive information regarding the following along with their hall permits:
– Trade test syllabus
– Date of the examination
– Examination venue
– Duration of the test
The final selection will depend on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, vacancies available in the respective community category and performance in the trade test.
Required Documents
Candidates must submit self-attested photocopies of the following documents along with their application:
1. Age proof (Birth Certificate/Class 10th Certificate/School Leaving Certificate).
2. Address proof.
3. Indian citizenship proof.
4. Educational qualification certificates.
5. Technical qualification certificates (ITI or equivalent, if applicable).
6. HMV Driving Licence or Licence Extract (only for MV Mechanic candidates).
7. One-year trade experience certificate.
8. SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/ESM certificate, wherever applicable.
9. Two recent passport-size photographs, self-attested.
The experience certificate must contain the name and complete postal address of the organization.
