Job Description
Collaborate with various stakeholders across tax operations, product, compliance, engineering, operations, accounting, and other business units. This involves mining and analyzing financial and entity-level tax data to identify key trends and insights. Responsibilities include investigating and resolving data discrepancies, generating reports for external data sharing, and creating compelling visualizations to effectively communicate data-driven findings to key decision-makers. Act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional stakeholders. Develop and implement models to automate the detection and resolution of anomalies and inconsistencies within tax data. Design and build comprehensive end-to-end data pipelines and self-service dashboards, focusing on automation wherever possible. Proactively explore FinTech systems and data to identify opportunities for process improvements, leading to cost savings and increased efficiency. Clearly communicate findings to both peers and management. Develop a deep understanding of tax systems and data flows, documenting these processes and training internal personnel to ensure the ongoing success and institutionalization of data science practices within the organization.

Responsibilities
- Proficiency in either Python or R programming language.
- Fundamental understanding of experimental design methodologies (e.g., A/B testing) and statistical methods.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate data-driven narratives and conduct thorough root cause analyses.
- Demonstrated enthusiasm, proactive work ethic, and ability to thrive in dynamic, agile environments.
- Effective collaboration with product and engineering teams to launch impactful new products.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
- Prior experience in Finance, FinTech, Tax, Payments, or a related field is highly valued.
Education Qualification
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field. (For Master's degree holders, a minimum of 1+ years of relevant industry experience is required; for Bachelor's degree holders, a minimum of 2+ years of industry experience as a Data Scientist or in a comparable role is necessary.)
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in SQL.
- Proven ability to extract meaningful insights from data and effectively communicate key findings and takeaways to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Experience with Excel and various dashboarding/data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Mixpanel, Looker, or similar).
- Prior experience working within a Product/Tech/Analytics Services company supporting businesses with a large customer base (millions of customers) across multiple platforms and countries.
